Creativity Central

I've been at it again..

I cant help myself.. I just love to sew!!

I like to make baby stuff or baby related things..

The last week I have been making Bibs..

 Bandana Bib

But tonight I decided to try something different.. and this is the result..

This is a nappy wallet!

A nappy wallet is the size of a clutch bag. It fits 1-2 nappies, a travel pack of wipes and a couple of smelly nappy sacks in it. Its perfect for putting in your handbag if you want to duck to the shops quickly, but dont want to have to cart your bulky nappy bag around.

I think this has turned out perfectly! Exactly how I hoped it would. I still want to add a press stud or 2 and one or 2 embellishments - just for good measure :)

Mumma's Time!

As you all now know - I love spending time with my girls, but there comes a time when baby babble and watching cartoons becomes a bit of a chore, and some 'mumma time' is needed.

My alone time is between 7pm and 1am most nights. I spend it being friends with Facebook, catching up on my favourite TV shows, the odd bit of housework, or my favourite - SEWING!

Sewing is a new love in my life, but I cant get enough of it. I have so many projects I want to start, but I am nowhere near skilled enough to do them yet.
My very first project was a sock monkey.

Then it turned into some more soft toys and a Taggie Blanket..

Then tonight I made my very first bib!

I may not be very good, but its something that I really enjoy and find rather relaxing.

I think even if us, as mums don't get away time (as in out of the house), then we can find something else we really enjoy for some 'mumma time'. Even if it is spending hours on the computer, but as long as its something that lets you relax and recover for another baby filled day!

'A Moment'

I am having a moment.

Its not a bad moment, actually its a nice moment.

Its moments like these I realise how much I actually love my daughters.

Isabel is in bed sleeping (on her back!) and Imogen is in her room watching 'Tinkerbell'. And all I can think right now is how much they mean to me. They are my world, my whole life revolves around them, and I am more than happy with that.
They make me, me. I love waking up in the morning to them, knowing that they will be there and that I get to spend another day as a Mum.

Best. Job. Ever.

I never expected to fall pregnant at 17 and by 22 have 2 children, but I wouldn't change it for ANYTHING. This IS my life and its the best.

My girls are adorable, I know I'm probably bias but I'm allowed to be.

This is just my moment, and I wanted to share it!

Beautiful Sleeping Babies..

Isabel sleeps reasonably well for a 5 month old.. But there are 2 things that have been a life save for us until recently..

and

These are both great! We love them..

We found them most beneficial for sleeping, because they stopped her arms flailing about, which would scare her, and also stopped her from knocking her dummy out. The good thing for dummy users it that the Sleepy Wings have pockets in the arms so you can put a spare dummy there, if they lose the first one they have 2 more chances to get one back!
They are good for babies that scratch, keeping their little hands and sharp nails tucked away.
When Isabel was smaller I liked to use the suit at feed times too, they kept her arms nice and still, so I didnt have to struggle with getting them out of the way while I attached her.

Isabel now rolls in bed, so I would like to stress - Don't use the Sleepy Wings for sleeping if your baby rolls!!.
It does say this on the box, but not very clear. Also it does say on the website, so make sure you check it out.
We never saw it on the box, and we walked in on Isabel with the wings covering her whole face while she was sleeping on her belly.. Now we will only use the wings in the car or pram, just to be safe..

But if there were one (or 2) things I had to recommend to a new mum, then these would be it.. They have helped us so much!

Imogen Grace

Introducing the fabulous....
IMOGEN GRACE

Imogen is 4 years old. She was born on the 9th of December 2006. 7lb 7oz and 50cm long. Perfect when she was born, and perfect now.

Imogen currently attends Star of the Sea college, just around the corner from my place. She is in Kindergarten already. It only feels like yesterday she was the same age as Isabel and learning to crawl. Now she is away from me 3 days a week learning how to read and write. Time goes way too fast.

The last 4 years with Imogen has had it ups and downs. Ups definitely outweigh the bad by a tonne, but the downs have been there, just few and far between. Imogen's Dad and myself split just after Imogen turned 2. Things were tough, but the hardest thing has been not having my girl around on the weekends. She has been going to his place every weekend until recently, now it is 3 weekends a month, so then I get one weekend every month to make up for the time I miss while she is at school. So for 3 weeks a month, I get one full day a week with Imogen. And I try to make the most of that one day!

She is such a beautiful soul. So caring and compassionate. I absolutely love watching her interact with her sister. She loves her so so much and it is amazing to watch the bond between them form.

I am so blessed to have 2 amazing and beautiful daughters..

Stylin' Necklace for the young one

Yesterday I decided enough is enough and teething is getting way out of control with the little miss, so I figured I am up for anything, as long as it could possibly help with Isabels teething problems.

This is what I shall be trialling as soon as it arrives in my post box..
This, my friends, is a baby's Baltic Amber Necklace.

Baltic amber if believed to release succinic acid into the skin to give mild pain relief. And apparently the Lemon coloured one (which is what I purchased) is believed to help with allergies, stomach aches and it delays the aging process. Pretty nifty if it does work!

I got this from www.amberocks.com.au - gorgeous stuff there!

I think it will look super cute, plus I'm really hoping it does work to help her. I have heard a lot of mixed results, but the people that they have worked for swear by them.

I'll give an update on how she is going after she has been using it for about a week or so.

Isabel Jasmine

To kick off the actual posting I'll start with the baby of the house.

ISABEL JASMINE

Isabel was born on the 19th of September 2010, 11:31pm which was 29 minutes before her due date! She weighed 7lb 1oz and was 52cm long. Pure beauty and instant love as soon as I saw her!

Isabel is currently 5 months old. Growing like a weed, but in a good way. I love seeing all the new things she learns every day. I love seeing her interact with her Dad and her older sister. They will grow up to be the best of friends.

She is on the move already! Rolling over is her favourite activity, but she is getting close to crawling which is exciting. She will only attempt it in bed though, and while she has her sleeping things on.

Its crazy how fast our little ones grow up. I find it a little sad. Its like you blink and the time has gone. But I am trying to savor every minute I get to spend with Isabel. Before I know it she will be joining her sister at school.

Back to the blogging scene

I havent blogged in a while - this is no secret..

But I really want to get back into the game. I have read a few inspirational blogs lately and I am keen to get going.

I have 2 kids - Imogen, 4 and Isabel, 5 months. They are my life, my passion, my world. This blog will mainly focus on them, and what I do with them, what I use with them and how things work around my house.

Also I will obviously be featured in here along with my boyfriend Dan. There will be a show from some family members, friends and acquaintances.
